🤔 As of Friday 7 July, apparently my account has been suspended instance-wide by moderators at @fosstodon — so all of my followers there from the past 6 years have been disconnected, and no one on that instance can follow me any more.

No reason or advance notice was provided, and no reports were sent.

Update 2: Apparently I was suspended in November 2022 for posting a video of goats yelling like humans.

@downey the fediverse urgently needs to divorce identity from server instances by means of #NomadicIdentity

Quiet suspensions and defederation are extremely harmful to our social graphs, which should belong to no one but ourselves as sovereign individuals.

Can we get the active stakeholders and developers together to form a working group?

I think these (valid, important) thoughts are in scope for the work @cwebber and team are doing with @spritelyinst but would defer to them to confirm.

I’m interested in a universal & portable username/account/identifier for Fediverse. I suspect that DNS already solves many of the underlying problems and challenges. What we need is more of an accessibility and usability challenge, where I can easily turn a domain name I own into a secure #Fediverse / #ActivityPub server.

Anyone doing managed #Shuttlecraft hosting yet?
