Comparing it to Software, the head of the says:

" needs similar freedom to flourish."

Except that the Free Software & Open Source movements were (until recently!) not about the freedom of technology or its makers. It was all about the needs & liberation of those using that technology.

Now the very group self-charged with protecting OSS weaken it.

IMHO the disappointing catastrophe is a great example of what happens when you de-center everyday people from strategy.

@downey I do love FOSS most for its benefits to and liberation of users, from a utilitarian point of view (users are the greatest group of interest) as well as the fact that the very point of software is to be a tool to assist users.

I've seen many references to the controversy of the OSAID, but still don't understand the full picture. Please could you let me know what the main problems are - are they the lack of users in stakeholder advisors, or the lack of direct requirements to data access?

@downey Thank you so much for this!

By the way (sorry for the sudden change in subject, but I'll take the chance to ask you as the admin), is a.gup.pe intentionally blocked from floss.social? I cannot access anything from Guppe groups on floss.social.
