A view of its UI in 2.5D with on the main part, the map, and on the left side the command interface (including a mini-map showing the displayed area), and in the foreground a unit selection interface showing the selection of the "Ground attack plane" unit with a summary of its strengths/weaknesses, its characteristics and the number of credits left (to buy units). On the map there are several types of buildings on the land area (with construction areas in gray and wasteland areas in green), but also sea areas with its own buildings. An AWAC aircraft flies over the area.

M.A.X. (Mechanized Assault and eXploration) is a SP/MP sci-fi tactical strategy game (1996, Interplay), whose particularity is that it can be played in turn-based mode (turn length and adjustable speed) or in real time. The objective is to colonize different planets, to control their resources and to defend its colonies against its rivals. M.A.X.R. (Mechanized Assault & eXploration Reloaded) is an improved engine compatible with M.A.X. 1 data (M.A.X. 2, the sequel released in 1998 is not compatible), and it is also a complete game including its own data. Only multiplayer is supported for the moment (AI and single player mode in dev.).
