A bird's eye view of a lovely fishing village where the two protagonists are descending a staircase leading to the harbor, while another one is contemplating the payasage leaning against an embankment. The whole is reminiscent of Japanese RPGs.

Cassette Beasts is a SP/MP (split-screen co-op), real-time with turn based combat, open world party-based RPG / JRPG reminiscent of Pokemon. The player explores New Wirral, a remote island inhabited by strange creatures to find their way home. Along the way, he will be able to record and collect monsters on a retro tape to acquire their abilities and reuse them in battle, while he will use his human form for travel, island exploration and puzzle solving. He will also be able to merge monsters to produce new ones.
