Once a week I will post a circus video that inspired me back then. Today everybody has moved to proprietary alternatives to pixelfed and barely videos appear on the proprietary peertube alternative. If you are not interested please filter the hashtag #circusvideo.
The first video that inspired me a lot when starting in the circus scene was "Maëlle Vie - Yesterday didn't happen" in 2009. She is doing club swinging. The music is dubstep, not everybodies cup of tea. It is filmed mostly at La Défense in Paris.
The next video is showing Neta Oren who works with Cie Ea Eo and others. She has been a huge inspiration to me. Even though I am no ball juggler and do not own any juggling balls seeing her shows or seeing her train at juggling conventions lights a spark of creativity in me. In November I saw her performing the show BPM with her partner Eric Longequel, which was heart warming and exciting.
This video is beauty. Alexandra Savina was the last act of the fantastic gala show at the European Juggling Convention in 2012 in Lublin, Poland with this act Ring-o-graphy. I always come back watching it because it is just art that warms my heart. I would love to see it again.
This week we will see "Glisses" from Antoine Dethy. He is a circus teacher in Brussels and I met him several times at Convention de Jonglerie de Bruxelles at Tour et Taxis. The video has been recorded at Galeries Horta, a public place in the center of the city. I love his style of moving and playing with the diabolo on the floor and around the body.
At my first circus conventions I saw Falco Scheffler. I remember me sitting in front of him in Lüneburg doing his ball magic. I was just starting out and not going to be a ball juggler. But still his juggling was mesmerizing. The song to this video is a Cover of The Cure - Close To Me by The Get Up Kids.
Wes Peden is one of the most well known jugglers in the circus scene in the past 15 years. He is a creative circus artist with a lot of energy. After studying circus arts in Stockholm he stayed in Europe and is present at many small and big conventions. "Wes Peden Sucks!" is one video of him that I like, because it has a lot of energy and colours in it. It was filmed in Brazil 10 years ago:
Gaëlle Coppée is a very inspiring juggler. She was always in Bruxelles at the juggling conventions and when YANA Magazine [0] did their first issue she did a piece about why she juggles:

Last week I posted a video of Gaëlle Coppée from Cie Scratch. She did win a video contest of the Convention de jonglerie de Bruxelles with Gilles Dodemont. Gilles first caught my eye in Bruxelles as diabolo player but over the years he did more and more ball juggling. So here are two videos of both of them which I really enjoy:

Um dia equilibrado, a balanced day by Juan Duarte is the circus video for this week. I think the first time I saw Juan Duarte was at a gathering at the Berlin Juggling Convention, where many good contact jugglers played a soccer game with a ball on the head.
Brecken Rivara had such an imense positive influence on me. She uses a totally different prop which has so many more degrees of freedom of movement than my main prop. Watching her training dancing and playing with her hoop is so inspiring. I am glad to have seen her 2013 and 2016 at EJCs. Thibault Mathieu for me is one of the most poetic jugglers in the world. He has a very fluent style in club juggling. Using balances, lazy throws, no beats, rolling, traps and isolations. This juggling took ideas from other fields like Poi and also influenced modern Poi and other circus arts a lot.

Christian Meier did this wonderful piece of diabolo art back in the days. I like the vibe of the video, It has something to it like a training session. The tricks are very enjoyable to me.

Todays video has a wonderful vibe. Anni Küpper has so many fluent movements with clubs around her body. She used to give workshops at conventions. Kyle Johnson has been very inpirational to me, when I saw him with his yellow balls at the Berlin Juggling Convention. This video is shot at the Vulcan. The video of Brecken Rivara was also from the Vulcan. There should be more places around the world like the Vulcan.
This one is very dear to me. I got to know Cecilia Stock 8 years ago when she started to frequent the Hamburg circus scene. Ceci was living in my neighbourhood and we passed great times together. Then she decided to attend circus school and needed a dicipline, so she learned soft rope and got accepted at Flic in Torino. I watched her final show at the circus school in Italy. Later she did Fratellini in Paris.

Another juggling video. A nice collaboration during the pandemic lock downs. I liked the soundtrack of that video and loved to see circus artists doing a collaboration where each video continues were the one before stopped . I liked the vibe a lot. Seeing Idriss Roca unique style of juggling clubs at "Au bout des doigts 2016" convention in Lyon was very special. I experimented as well with drops that bounce and can be part of the pattern again, but not at this level. I love how Idriss uses these stops in swinging the clubs while throwing others. It makes the pattern look like an organic living creature to me.
This old video connects two of my hobbies music on vinyl and juggling. I even skated in my youth. There is even a cameo from Sylvestre Dewa, a.k.a. Trash, a diabolo player. The music is from aberration chromatique and adds to the vibe of footbagging, juggling and skating vinyl discs. I loved this video back in the days.
Tom Lacoste has a very great diabolo act. I love the character and have seen many different developments of this act in Bruxelles, Toulouse and Nancy over the past decade. This was filmed at Festival Mondial du Cirque de Demain in Paris. Tom graduated from Circus School in Bordeaux and has done a lot of filming circus acts or videos. He is one of the most creative diabolo players.
Łukasz Uczkiewicz makes magic with juggling balls. Okay they are russian balls and easier to catch on feet or arms, but this level was insane when I first saw it. I like the rhythm in his throwing and the music soundtrack from Bonobo. A wonderful ball juggling video that inspired me to go out and do circus.
Aime Morales combines a clownesque character with his cyr wheel act and the funny sounds of "Stimmhorn - Trio Hattalaha".
I really liked the act on stage in Bruxelles when I first saw it. In 2015 at the European Juggling Convention in Brunico he performed it in a circus tent on a round stage which was perfect for this act and I was happy to experience this act again.
