Hey @mike, in your Medium® post, you stated that both your @Flipboard server and your proprietary webapp have "signed on to the Mastodon server covenant". But joinmastodon.org/covenant is very clear that limited federation, such as your new server is doing, is incompatible with the covenant.

Was this an oversight in the planning process?

@downey @Flipboard Good question. I don't know the answer to this but I'll find out and get back to you.

@downey I looked into this. flipboard.social is a full blown mastodon instance and we do not run it in limited federation mode. flipboard.com is different in that technically it's not a mastodon instance and it is still not fully federated which is why it is in limited federation mode for now.
