In general, when it comes to the hardware/desktop it really comes down to the fact that we have no way to measure our install base. We have conjecture.
If you want to make an argument about supporting Linux at the consumer hardware level that's going to be a difficult argument to make to finance.

Companies need revenue models to advocate for writing drivers and selling. How does one onboard into the app ecosystem community? (I rather not use desktop here)
We need to start doing telemetry, and actually measure our community so that we can build influence with hardware manufacturers.
That's one. The other, an app store that provides financial transactions so that you're feeding the ecosystem with applications is also very necessary.
There are opportunities to grow.
