Retro; the customizable clock widget is now available on Flathub in v2
What's new:
• 24/12h support (follows GNOME Settings)
• Energy usage optimizations
• Better support for round clocks
• Controls moved out of the way
What do you think of the floating header bar?
BTW if you are interested in the technical details you can read about them here https://blog.sonny.re/retro-v2
@sonny the floating header bar is so cute i wish it was upstream!
@sonny
I was not aware GNOME supported desktop widgets. I'll need to try that out.
Or is that simply an ordinary application? If so, is it possible to set it to not just open automatically, but also always be in the same location?
@cjr it's an ordinary application
I could implement start on boot using the background portal.
But i think we need something a bit more powerful like https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/xdg/xdg-specs/-/merge_requests/79
@sonny
Ok, makes sense. I just misunderstood the term "widget" in the original post. Really cool looking clock application, though!
@sonny Interesting read!
