The plugin for is an absolute game changer when it comes to reader engagement. I published a post yesterday and it already has 8 comments and 7 of them are from . The total number of comments is actually much higher, the plugin doesn't handle reactions to comments yet.
Meanwhile the blogpost has received 4 views from and 2 from .

@sesivany I did notice the amount of comments getting lower for subsequent posts. But maybe that's just my writing style or topics...

@sesivany this is my experience too, it is an absolutely massive difference in engagement.

@pfefferle

@sesivany Interesting idea, I migrated to static blog so I dropped the comments, but maybe adding them back via #fediverse would be possible... Need to investigate and blog :-D Thanks for the tip!

@vyskocilm @sesivany Thank! I knew that somebody had to written down something like it aleady :-D Looks like the post already has plenty of details to make it work, so I guess I have something to do some evening :-)

@sesivany I am starting to see the same... But I'm pretty sure that we cannot reply to the comments yet, are you experiencing differently?

@alecmuffett AFAIK you can if you install the Friends plugin, then the blog becomes a full-featured Fediverse account. I use my Mastodon account to reply. Sadly those replies don't appear on the blog because it only handles direct comments, not replies to comments.

@sesivany I am currently having massive problems with the friends plug in not updating on a custom instance that I set up to support it. It's really weird: only a handful of feeds update and they only do so once a day. The software appears to simultaneously think it does and does not have feeds to work on.
