Big win for Servo! Servo now passes 94.9% of Web Platform Tests for CSS2 Tables, surpassing Blink! Big congrats to the team for their incredible progress on table support over the past year.
@servo i am curious, last time i heard from y'all the browser wasn't really in a daily driver state. has that changed by now? is servo a viable option as a daily driver?
@commentator2_0 @servo servo isn't a browser per se (just the browser engine). So it isn't aiming to be a daily driver. You are welcome to try the nightly releases though c:
@commentator2_0 No not yet. Servo is still in a pre-alpha state but lots of work is happening to get to an alpha state.
@servo wow, surpassing blink is wild
@servo great work
@servo Are there any browsers using Servo? I know about Verso, anything else?
The world desparately needs an alternative browser that isn't made by the world's largest ad company (Google) or a company (Mozilla) openly bullshitting us about privacy while supporting the world's largest ad company.
@craftyguy @servo Nothing usable yet, but Servo is making big leaps, so we hope to see a proper browser being developed sometime soon!
@servo Interesting that Firefox ranks first. No wonder it's resisting so well these years of negligence.
@servo This is what free market competition is for, right?
@servo Great work! Y'all missed an opportunity to compare your progress to the other two WIP engines though :D
I'm sure we'll all catch up eventually! It's an exciting time to be implementing web specs.
