It appears we can save quite a bit of filesize (another 50% decrease for the default) by leveraging the algorithmic noise in JPEG-XL rather than baking grain into the files to fight color banding.
@jimmac it also looks like we'll get 10bit colors by default (on most common hardware) into #gnome45 which should help aswell I suppose?

@jimmac By the way, I wonder if you want to update the compression settings for that? Our current ones are probably optimized for 8bit.
@rmader I'll investigate the filesize cost of that. Majority of the wallpapers are renders and higher bit depth is easily attainable.
