Vertical tabs have finally arrived in Firefox! The latest update adds that and a few other neat features, plus hardware video decoding on AMD GPUs for Linux users https://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2025/03/firefox-136-released-with-vertical-tabs-new-sidebar-more
@omgubuntu "spyware gets a rather useful feature that other browsers have had for ages" is a better title.
@zstg @omgubuntu I think people are quite dumb for falling for that smoke screen, even clone of FF have this feature for a while now (and they get rid of the spyware stuff)
@omgubuntu i actually like this feature quite a bit
@omgubuntu is this new? I've been using vertical tabs for quite a while now.
@julian Yes Vertical Tabs are new in this /stable/ release. You may have enabled a development flag to use them prior to now on a stable release, or you may be run a beta, dev, or nightly build where they will have been available sooner.
@omgubuntu thanks. Yes that's probably it.
@omgubuntu "Address autofill enabled for users in the United Kingdom." Why only in the UK?
@omgubuntu how long until they shovel some ai shite in it as well?
@omgubuntu Now together with we sell all your data too
@omgubuntu Don't promote Firefox, man. Come on!
@tokenizer Why? It's Ubuntu's default web browser. New versions of Firefox are therefore relevant to Ubuntu users, and my blog is about Ubuntu.
@omgubuntu As you are probably aware, #firefox doesn't respect
privacy. Don't promote it because of that. Merely being part of Ubuntu is not sufficient justification. You don't cover every single piece of software shipped with Ubuntu. I agree that the omg! ubuntu is your blog. You can do whatever you want. You could want not to promote #firefox. Just saying...
