@omgubuntu can't wait for everyone to absolutely freak out about how much they hate this logo, even though half the people complaining about it have never used (and probably never heard of) thunderbird in their lives
@omgubuntu i'm sure many people are gonna hate it, but i personally love it, it'll look great next to firefox on my taskbar :)

@omgubuntu@floss.social I kinda like this and the way the wings also double serve as a speech bubble looks really cool, not a fan of the way the envelope fold looks and the out of place purple hint

@omgubuntu I don't hate it..but my brain really refuses to like it if I have to let the old one go.

@moanos @omgubuntu
Honestly the logo is the 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘵 of Thunderbird's issues these days. I know a UI redesign is coming, and thank goodness, as this app is showing its age. (I still use it regularly though.)

@omgubuntu Mozilla gets way too much unjust hate for oversimplification, especially since this design is even more complex in parts, they're definitely going in the right direction with Thunderbird

@marnic @omgubuntu @thunderbird C’est parce qu’il est prêt à s’attaquer au problème…

@omgubuntu I think this needs to be flipped horizontally, and then it would look perfect.

@omgubuntu@floss.social maybe it could look better with more purple/cyan, similar to the firefox logo's gradient...

@omgubuntu oh boy, this will 100% confuse me when i think it's firefox lmao

@omgubuntu the beak is too sharp, looks like a pissed-off eagle (with angry eye). otherwise it is quite OK

@omgubuntu Instead delivering your mail, they will be hoarding it now…

@omgubuntu I definitely like it! Keeps the design language of Firefox’s icon. It brings a consistent look!

@omgubuntu looks like the new bird is giving you side-eye 😂

@omgubuntu
As others pointed, a bit mean in the looks. I'd argue it s disturbingly close to Iceraven's logo

@omgubuntu I like how it is now closer to the firefox logo. cool.

@omgubuntu a logo redesign that (for once) isn't terrible !!!

@omgubuntu Looks better! On the old icon, the bird kind of look depressed

@omgubuntu

I hope the new Thunderbird 115 will look as new/good than it's logo.

@omgubuntu FIRST THEY CAME FOR /sbin/init AND NOW OUR MAIL CLIENT ICON WAKE UP SHEEPLE

@omgubuntu I think the old Thunderbird logo holds up better than the old Firefox one did, but I guess having a more unified brand style makes sense.

Missed opportunity to have the wings be the parts curving up, carrying the mail on its back, though

@oac That sounds like a really sweet idea for an icon.

@omgubuntu I have been a Linux (especially Ubuntu) user for years and I have never needed to use it. It came into my life 3 days ago and I use it with love. Obviously the new one is not cute. But, no, I didn't hate it. :raspberry_pi:

@omgubuntu
I like both. The one on the left is hugging the mail. The one on the right looks cool.

Why not draw your own icon? It's open-source, so just change it to suit you.
