A screenshot of my #PocoF1, as promised! After I've gone and *customised* it 😉

It's running #Phosh on #Debian #Trixie, with Eliver Lara's #Candy icon theme (modified a bit to work with more apps) :debian:

One thing I noticed in #Phosh is that the file picker in apps like Tuba and Dino were a bit annoying. It was too wide for the screen in portrait mode (first screenshot), so I had to go into landscape mode to do it ↩️

But then I tried more mobiley apps like Curtail and Contacts and they had a cool responsive file picker (second screenshot)! ✨

According to this Super User post it depends on each app's widget. So do we have to just wait until all apps update their thing? 🤔

@badrihippo The file picker depends on a bunch of things. For native distribution packages, it's typically the apps file picker. In your screenshot, the GTK3 file picker is a patched one to fit the screen better, while the GTK4 file picker is not - future apps can use adaptive Nautilus as GTK file picker since GNOME 47.
With flatpak and (not sure) also snaps it's the file picker the portal uses - hopefully one that fits well.

@badrihippo All that said: I recommend "Mobile Settings" (linuxphoneapps.org/apps/mobi.p) - with its Compositor menu you can make non-fitting dialogs fit (while they are open), and you won't have to do the "turn to landscape" thing.

@linuxphoneapps ooh thanks for the tip! I enabled the fitting thing for the Dino picker popup, and confirmed that it remains scaled even when I closed and reopened it. I was worried it'd make things too small to tap, but that doesn't seem to be the case 😁

Hmm, that's a lot of factors. I don't even have Nautilus installed (my Mobian came with Portfolio instead, so I decided to try and see how that goes). When you say "future apps can use" you mean *they* have to choose it right? 🔧
