@kde@floss.social @kde@lemmy.kde.social Pretty sure KPatience is the game I play most of the time because I struggle to start new games a lot lately... oh and sometimes gnome 2048 I guess, hope that doesn't revoke my KDE Shill License :3
@mitsunee @kde@floss.social @kde@lemmy.kde.social yeah, i also downloaded gnome game package…
@kde@floss.social @kde@lemmy.kde.social games? 0a.d. or minetest, sometimes playing other things but in browser. Idk
@kde@floss.social @kde@lemmy.kde.social
My vote goes to @Minetest (https://www.minetest.net/) and 0 A.D. (https://play0ad.com/) two criminally underrated games that deserve much more exposure.
@Bro666
I'm unfamiliar with 0 A.D., though as an on again off again Minecraft player for over a decade now I 110% agree minetest needs more exposure
@kde@floss.social @kde@lemmy.kde.social @Minetest
@kde@floss.social @kde@lemmy.kde.social SuperTuxKart! Also I think you could also highlight emulators.
Not free and open source games but I think the guide should focus more on Steam Play (maybe even show a video of how just clicking play works on a AAA game) and Heroic for Epic Games (Many people may have free games they acquired from Epic Games)
@kde
Tools
@Krita , @inkscape, @inkstitch , @darktable @godotengine @Blender , @kdenlive , olive, enve, meshroom, natron, friction, tooll, ...
and a list of great #FOSS games is here:

@tibequadorian @kde@floss.social @PrismLauncher @kde@lemmy.kde.social
Minecraft is not free and open source software though.
Check out @Minetest. Apart from FLOSS, it is much more extensible, making it not only great for creating a wide variety of derivative games, but also a better educational and collaborative tool than Minecraft.
It's a treasure.
@Bro666 @tibequadorian Yes but PrismLauncher is open source.
@kde@floss.social @kde@lemmy.kde.social Heroic Launcher (an open source client for epic, Amazon games and gog)
BAR - Beyond all Reason (sci-fi RTS built on the open source spring engine)
Ultrastar Deluxe (Karaoke-Partygame, similar to SingStar, but extensible with new songs through simple text files)
@kde@floss.social @kde@lemmy.kde.social
I think @veloren could be a good mention.
@kde@floss.social @kde@lemmy.kde.social Mangohud is really good. And for me the top video is a bit laggy on Firefox.

https://www.beyondallreason.info/ is a really really good floss rts game and i would mention lutris at same time as bottles as they both do pretty much the same thing and lurtris can even handle emulation, which i think bottles cant
