Very interesting post about the history of FOSS (free, open soucre software) licenses with conclusions about the harm "ethical clauses" may do to FOSS https://subfictional.com/open-source-licenses-and-the-ethical-use-of-software/ As it states, we already have means to control how people may use (or not) software: proprietary licenses
@jgbarah Good to see more writing like this. I feel like we're closer to moving toward long-term solutions -- the author seemed very anti-OSI/anti-FSF based on comments as recently as a year ago. So perhaps we're collectively figuring out the roles of various groups and community efforts!
For people who care about, support, or build Free, Libre, and Open Source Software (FLOSS).
