One of the nice visual improvements I worked on for GNOME Settings 47.beta is the "Add User" dialog now using libadwaita widgets and a reworked password feedback label. Still not final, but already looking neat!

@felipeborges ah, yes, another change in the settings app 🤣. Can't have a gnome release without it

@alihan_banan this is the nature of our development process. Distros are the ones that should decide how frequently they deliver these updates to final users.

@felipeborges I'm not complaining, it is cool that you make already good stuff even better. Its just such a funny thing now that settings app just cannot get any rest

@felipeborges any chance you'll be considering flows for registering fingerprint or fido2 on a user account as well? or does that belong elsewhere?

@epocsquadron we have a separate dialog/setting for registering fingerprints for an existing user account. I should look into modernizing this UI as well (it hasn't been touched for some time and looks outdated now).

I don't think the design team has considered adding fingerprint registering right at the "Add User" dialog, but I think this could be considered too.

@felipeborges i think it's definitely something that could use thought. Right now it's very confusing what the role of fingerprint and fido2 is on linux. Can it work for initial login on boot? Should it be framed as second factor only?
