Even Apache Software Found. doesn't want to run their own git infrastructure 😞 #freesoftware
Not huge #IRC fan myself, but I really really hope #Mozilla chooses #freesoftware as its official replacement. They kickstarted Talk as a Disqus competitor (now that's with Vox Media); it'd be great if one of the more promising tools would get a 2y funding through them as well. Unfortunately the open messenger landscape is so fractured and immature atm, that I'm a bit pessimistic overall 😕
I just learned that #Mozilla will abandon #IRC. In general I think it is a good move to look for something more modern. I'm curious what they will chose at the end. For me the three main qualities would be: #free (aka Free Software), #decentralized & #open (aka open protocols) http://exple.tive.org/blarg/2019/04/26/synchronous-text/
This week I'd like to name #Jitsi Meet, a nice opensource videoconference tool, available via browser, on mobile and there's a desktop (Electron) app as well: https://github.com/jitsi/jitsi-meet-electron
You can use Jitsi Meet or set up your own Jitsi server. The best part is that you don't need an account to create or join a conference.
Who would you like to boost for #NameAndFame Friday?

Does anyone have experience/reasoned opinion on #SOLID?
Interesting Internet-Draft: MASQUE – think "VPN over HTTPS", undetectable, unblockable.
also: Postman’s wannabe-funny startup screen (slooooww) is annoying.
A colleague commented my switch from Postman to Insomnia with: “For me, Postman is close to perfect software.“ — And I would almost agree, it’s doing its job pretty well. But for me the marketing-first website of PM and the closed development really started to bother me. Insomnia may not be as rock-solid yet (although I haven’t found any show-stoppers in my daily work) and I wish it had a larger group of contributors, but it freed me from “vendor lock-in fear” and that alone makes it worth it.
