@downey There's some astonishing maths going on.
Apple is, to my astonishment, the "world's biggest company by market capitalization".
It hit $1 trillion for the first time in 2018.
Then $2 trillion in 2020.
Then it became the first company valued at $3 trillion in 2023.
That rate of rise is insane.
There are only 9 companies in the world > $1 trillion. Tesla is on that list. Not Volkswagen.
This is imaginary wealth. What happens when we stop believing this crap?

they have succumbed to a mindset where “winning” means earning enough money to insulate themselves from the damage they are creating by earning money in that way. It’s as if they want to build a car that goes fast enough to escape from its own exhaust.

@downey i'd feel better if more of us poor folks fought back. but by and large we're too busy trying to stay alive and sheltered for this kind of nonsense, and neither the rich nor the press pay us any mind.
So they could remain billionaires and between them give $10,000 to every one of 33.5m poor, hungry or ill chlidren who could well die in pain.
But they chose not to.
Guess what I wish for.

Wayament.... wasn't MusKKKrat gripping hard recently about how he was "forced" to pay $11 billion in taxes last year?
Which amounts to....less than 5% of his total wealth?
My last year of employment as a $16/hour stocker, I ended up paying 18% of my gross pay in Fed taxes.
