@downey had I counted "moved to linux and started playing around" as being "involved with open source, I could have answered > 10 years ^^
@Hyolobrika Whatever best describes when you felt that you really embraced the idea. For some that's using, for some it's development.
Probably very much a self-fulfilling prophesy answer cluster will come from this poll. Too bad no 5th option (not a FOSS user).
(of course, that disregards just about everybody using Apache, etc. as they reach out to the Internet for their daily fixes of proprietary games, etc.)

your second point is bang on: nearly everyone who uses networked computing devices is using FOSS, even if they don't know exactly what
everyone answering a poll on the fediverse? can that even be done *without* FOSS?
@downey 22 or 23 years. not sure exactly when my first upstreamed patch was, but somewhere around '98 ish.
