Hey #inkscape users.
Does this make sense? I want the Ctrl+X function (Cut selected nodes) to actually separate the lines of a closed path (see video) instead of what it does today which is splice in a weird line.
Good change?
(see https://floss.social/@doctormo/112934707041030939 for alternative tweak)
Yes. Good change!
@doctormo
I found the proposition much more natural than the existing one!
@doctormo and deleting keeps the old behavior?
@doctormo It looks like currently Delete removes nodes leaving a straight line, while Ctrl+X leaves a curved line. It's essentially the same function.
I like your new idea. Good!
@doctormo agree, good change!
@doctormo yes that's natural and what I would expect.
@doctormo 100% agree!
The current behavior always seemed unintuitive to me
@doctormo def great change
@doctormo
Looks good to me!
That's what I'd expect to happen.
Just one thing - why are they later pasted in a slightly different position? Function of mouse position?
@doctormo Yes, a very good change!
@doctormo
With the current behavior its easier to get to the state of this behavior than the other way around. That should not be neglected.
