wow, I realized today that if I search for a something in nautilus 3.30, it will also search for text stored inside pdf files on my computer. Magnificent! :) thanks @gnome
Behind the @gnome 3.30 Release Video
The release video is out! Check out the new features in GNOME 3.30.
Need a UX designer with roots in open source? I am looking for full-time opportunities in 2019. 🔥
Finally, the official 1.0 of #Flatpak is out!
With Flatpak you get desktop apps using a layered filesystem with OStree and this way provide applications in a stable way on almost every distro.
There is already a big number of applications available as flatpak. See https://flathub.org for that.
One of the most powerful features is its GTK integration which makes sure your flatpaks use your system's GTK themes :)
Have a lot of fun!
Flatpak 1.0 is out! I did the video together with Simon who does amazing sound things.
We have just done source code release of @GIMP 2.10.6 with vertical text, async layer preview rendering, new filters, usability improvements, bugfixes, and more changes. Builds for Windows and macOS are a work in progress, will be announced separately soon!
After sleeping on it, I think #Mastodon should rename ‘instances’ to ‘Communities.’
Instances feels too technical and I see even savvy people struggling to understand it.
I argue communities would make much more sense. It denotes much of the purpose behind _why_ this service has different instances, and many people will already be familiar with the concept from Reddit (the, what, sixth most popular site on the net?).
New @gnome Developer initiative update!

As you can see I continue working with watercolour and ink. The lightness of the media made me want to do a bird. It looks like I am going more and more the figurative way, but that might change, or not?
I recently have been watching Jeff Watts drawing videos. It's great background stuff while drawing yourself (apart from his occassional ads).

#WhyIStayOnMastodon reads out "Why I Stay On Mastodon" 😄
(Reason #44 I stay here: my previous requests like this have been generally well-received, proving that most people are awesome.)
