If you pirate any remotely popular culture you're counted as the reason why anticircumvention laws exist.
If you watch them "legitimately" you're incorrectly counted as supporting said anticircumvention laws.
If you shun popculture entirely, you might struggle to socialize.

Keep making weird stuff and sharing it with your friends. You'll create small cultures, and you'll vex whoever's doing all that counting.

@alcinnz I think there's a fix. I create my own characters and stories.
I go to conventions dressed up like a character of my own invention.
I chose my own definition of fame rather than letting others define that for me.
