I'm truly honored that @zemarmot has entrusted me with this responsibility, and I'm excited to be a part of this new direction for @GIMP

@CmykStudent @zemarmot @GIMP Your account name gives me great hope that CMYK export is also or will soon be part of those new priorities!
@janpmueller @zemarmot @GIMP Hi! Actually, GIMP 3 supports importing and exporting CMYK JPEGs, TIFFs, PSDs, and JPEG-XL images already. Next step is a full CMYK mode, which you can see any early demo of here: https://fosstodon.org/@CmykStudent/114073031868807701
@CmykStudent @zemarmot @GIMP oh yeah, sorry, should have been more specific - CMYK pdf export would be a godsend, because printers will ask for it and it's a terrible hassle to suddenly make it work in some other program... I'm a layman, though, so it's expected to be a bit rough when I hit unexpected turns. :)
@janpmueller @CmykStudent @zemarmot https://cyan.graphics/ may help, although it does PSD but not i think PDF.
@GIMP @janpmueller @CmykStudent @zemarmot
PDF support in Cyan could be added, but development has stalled for a while (years), too many projects, not enough hours in a day
@rodlie @janpmueller @CmykStudent @zemarmot who among us has not stood at the gateway to Olympias and wished for the one thing the gods cannot give us - more time!
@GIMP @rodlie @CmykStudent @zemarmot It's amazing for me to learn how much of its own problem that is. I only dabble in some PHP and have no software dev background, and I guess I thought "if it can save CMYK in a picture, why not in a pdf", but now I see how many cogs there are in this problem... I'm impressed, thank you all for these insights!
